What is Dengue? Symptoms, Home Made Remedies



Dengue is transmitted by the bite of the Aedes mosquito that typically attacks during day time. It’s favorite spots are below elbow & below the knee. They are active between the time period of August-October. There is no vaccine to protect against dengue. This disease is also known as “break-bone” fever because it sometimes causes severe joint & muscle pain that feels like bones are breaking.

Symptoms  :

1.   Sudden high grade fever

2.   Headache

3.   Body ache

4.   Sore throat & rashes

5.   Nausea-vomiting

6.   Liver or gall bladder inflammation

7.   Abdominal pain

8.   Black stool

9.   Low BP

10.   Drowsiness

11.   Rapid fall in platelets

Home Remedies :

If anyone is suffering from dengue then they would must consult with doctors. But try these temporary measures & homemade remedies.

1.   Papaya leaf : Take fresh papaya leaves & get the juice out of them. The juice of papaya leaves is very bitter in taste but they increase white blood cells & platelet count.

2.   Orange juice : It helps in digestion & helps to replace fluid loss of body or dehydration.

3.   Basil leaves : To improve immunity & to fight against dengue fever, boil few basil leaves in water until it remains half.  Strain the water, cool it down & drink it (at least twice a day)

4.   Black grape juice : Drink black grape juice 2-3times a day. It increases blood count.

5.   Coconut water : It is very good for patient’s health as it helps to replace the body fluid loss & is very nutritious & improve immunity.

6.   Fenugreek :  One cup of tea in a day will help cut down fever & relieve the patient from joint pain & muscle pain as it acts as a pain reliever.

7.   Coriander : They are healthy & tasty too. It reduce fever & helps in digestion.

8.   Do not eat solid food & try to eat simple foods which are easier to digest & less oily & spicy.

9.   Do not smoke or drink.

10.   Take rest & drink more water, juices & soups.
